What Is CurseForge
CurseForge is an Overwolf-owned platform dedicated to mods for games. Using an integrating client and website, gamers can seamlessly install and manage mods* to their favorite games. The platform allows small mod creators to get paid for their creations while keeping their content free for end-users.

CurseForge Collaboration With The Sims 4
On Nov. 14, 2022, CurseForge became the official mod hub for The Sims 4 UGC**, also known in The Sims community as Mods & Custom Content.
(You can read more about it on
this landing page or in this video.)
Campaign Goal
At that time, CurseForge had no UGC made for The Sims and the goal was to establish the platform as "The Home For The Sims Mods". To do so, we needed to attract a large sum of creators in a short amount of time to upload their creations to the platform.

Onboarding Teams
A special Sims task force was formed in Overwolf. As a Sims long-time fan, I was tasked to onboard the different company divisions by creating a deck, containing as much important info about the game and its community (Link to The Sims 4 101 Presentation).

* Mods- unofficial, added content, graphics, or mechanics to games.
** UGC- User-Generated Content

The Online Event Plan
Assisting the Marketing VP of Overwolf as this project's manager, I crafted a 3-part competition we named The Sims™ 4 CC*** Festival.
By publishing custom content to CurseForge, Creators had the chance to win amazing cash prizes, with over $100,000 in rewards.

The festival was divided into three phases over the span of nine weeks:

Phase 1
Span: 3 Weeks
Submissions Competing: Customizations for in-game characters, character elements, and furniture.
> During this phase we raffled $200 among all creators (150 creators won $200 each)

Phase 2
Span: 4 weeks
Submissions Competing: Rooms and lots built in-game.
> Each week 3 creators were picked by a special panel of judges to win $1,000 each, and qualify for phase 3.
Phase 3- The Grand Finals
Span: One Week
Submissions Competing: The winners of Phase 2
> Out of the 12 winners of the prior phase, three finalists were chosen by a community vote to win a prize of $5000.
